The Fulcrum Foundation welcomes the newly-appointed auxiliary bishop of Seattle, Father Frank Schuster! Fr. Schuster’s appointment was announced by Pope Francis on March 8, 2022. He will be the eighth auxiliary bishop of Seattle and will serve alongside Bishop Eusebio Elizondo in assisting Archbishop Paul D. Etienne.

Fr. Schuster will be ordained as a bishop on May 3, 2022 at St. James Cathedral.

The new bishop-elect was born May 20, 1971 in Mount Vernon. Fr. Schuster attended Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, one of the 72 schools in Western Washington that receives support from Fulcrum’s core programs: tuition assistance, capital grants, and educational leadership training.

Fulcrum is excited to partner with Fr. Schuster in his new role as we continue our work to strengthen and support Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Seattle. Congratulations, Fr. Schuster!
