Celebration of Light Hits It Out of the Ballpark!

May 31, 2022

The 20th Anniversary Celebration of Light was an astounding success, raising a record-breaking $2.8 million in support of Catholic education in Western Washington! For the first time in over a year, the Fulcrum community gathered in person at T-Mobile Park on May 20 for a beautiful evening full of hope for the future.

“It takes all of us in this greater community to support the schools and students in this meaningful way,” Vivian Shannon, executive director of Fulcrum, told attendees at the Celebration of Light. “Every person who helps in any way contributes to the collective strengthening of Catholic schools. So, to you, our gratitude runs deep.”

The event held many memorable moments, including the presentation of the 2022 Archbishop’s Award to the hard-working and dedicated teachers, staff, and administrators in our Catholic schools. Fulcrum was honored to recognize these heroes for their tireless efforts in education during the pandemic.

Fulcrum also announced the conclusion of the six-year Uplift capital campaign. The Fulcrum community blew the original $66 million goal out of the water, raising over $86 million in support of Catholic schools, students, and educators.

“This success was because of the incredible support of the community,” said Tony Audino, chair of the board. “Thank you for remaining faithful, for giving beyond yourselves, for stretching to support the greater Catholic school community and the educational needs of the children and families Fulcrum serves.”
