After submitting the application online, a printed copy and required financial documentation must be given to the school where the family member(s) will be attending. The Fulcrum Foundation will not accept an application unless it is forwarded by the school that the child will attend. Each school has its own deadline for submission. Yes, each school needs a complete application package (the application form and copies of necessary documents). Secondary and Elementary applications require separate applications and you must re-enter your data. If the schools are at the same level (Elementary or Secondary), then when one school is submitted, you can change the school name on the menu and resubmit without re-entering all your data. Submit an application to each school. Top My child has applied to a Catholic school, but we are waiting for a reply. Can we apply for tuition assistance? You can create an application package for the school by filling out the online application form and submitting the required documents to the school. On the student name line there is an admit/applied indicator. The school will only forward the TAP application if your child is admitted to the school. Top Can I apply for assistance for this school year? No, tuition assistance is always awarded for the coming year. All application deadlines are strictly enforced. Elementary school and high school assistance awards are separate. They have different cut-off points for the level of financial need. Top What do I do if my income tax was filed using e-file? Print a copy of the electronic filing, then sign and date it. Top My child's school has opted out of the Tuition Assistance Program, but I was asked to submit the Fulcrum application anyway. Why? Some schools use the Fulcrum application form and ranking system to give their own tuition assistance. Top Why is my age requested? Age is considered as a factor in determining the level of need. Older parents are given a larger allowance for retirement savings. Top I am supporting family members who are not living in my house; can I claim them as dependents? No, only persons residing in your home and reported as dependents on your income tax can be counted. Top I know another family at my school makes much more than I do, but they were granted a scholarship and I wasn't. How can this be? There are many factors beyond earnings that are considered by the award formula. These include family size, number of children at Catholic Schools, age of parent, assets available to the family, etc. Top I have not heard whether my student received an award or not. What do I do? First check the Important Dates on the Tuition Assistance web page to see if the award announcement date has passed. If it has, contact your child's school to find out how and when it is distributing the award announcement. Top I have been told that I will receive an award. Where do I get the assistance money? The money is sent directly to the school your child attends in the fall. Top After receiving an award to attend a particular Catholic school, my child has transferred to a different Catholic school. Can the tuition assistance be transferred to the new school? Yes, the assistance can be transferred to any Archdiocese of Seattle Catholic school that your child attends. If the transfer occurs during the school year the grant will be pro-rated at the new school. Please alert the school/Fulcrum of any such change. Top Is there an application form in Spanish?
