Why we need the Fulcrum Foundation

In the past, raising money for schools was traditionally the sole responsibility of each parish and school, with limited help from the Archdiocese.

In recent years the Catholic Fund launched the "Gift of Faith" Campaign with the specific purpose of raising funds for tuition assistance and seed money for an endowment for Catholic schools. It was expected that a foundation would be established to raise a large endowment and administer assistance to families and schools.

That foundation is the Fulcrum Foundation.

While each school raises funds locally for its own needs...

• The Fulcrum Foundation is the only fundraising organization for Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Seattle concerned with our system of schools as a whole, ensuring the strength and continuation of all.
• The Fulcrum Foundation is the only fundraising organization for Catholic schools that makes tuition assistance available to all qualifying students and their families.
• The Fulcrum Foundation is the first place that schools turn to for help with tuition assistance for their students.
• The Fulcrum Foundation is the only fundraising organization for Catholic schools that ensures a fair and equitable disbursement of assistance to schools throughout the entire Archdiocese.
• The Fulcrum Foundation is the only fundraising organization that has a plan for ensuring both the accessibility and the excellence of elementary and secondary Catholic schools throughout all of Western Washington.
